I’ve been to the Duck and the Peach in Washington, D.C.’s Eastern Market neighborhood three times now. Once for dinner with a party of 6, once for brunch with a party of 2, and Valentine’s Day dinner with a party of 2. It was wonderful each time! It doesn’t matter if your group is large or small, it’s dinner or brunch, or it’s a major holiday, the quality is consistent.
They are know for their rotisserie chickens, and I’m comfortable saying that it’s the best chicken I’ve ever had.
It’s rare to find a restaurant that is amazing both in the kitchen and with the wait staff, but that’s true here. There are so many people wandering around checking on tables and refilling water that I couldn’t imagine ever feeling neglected. My waitresses and waiters exemplified the epitome of good service each time.
They have a very detailed allergen menu, and are able to accommodate every imaginable dietary restriction.
While some staples remain, their menu rotates seasonally. I feel confident that as a gluten-free diner at the Duck and the Peach I will always be accommodated.
The presentation of all their food is beautiful. I took a picture of the harissa carrots:
